February 28, 1936 – January 10, 2025
Ronnie was quiet man who stood firm in his beliefs. He did not find it necessary to argue or debate. He seemed to always be on level ground, not up, not down just confident in his faith.
He married his sweet wife, Melba in 1958 and soon after their marriage left the Methodist Church where he had been raised by Godly parents, Sherrill and Annie Beauchamp, and joined Immanuel Baptist Church. Ronnie never held what some believe is an office of ‘importance’ in the church; however, was appointed to keep count of the attendance numbers and assist in offerings collections and money counting. While holding these responsibilities, he was faithful to the level that if on vacation when the weekend arrived, he would leave for Lewisville and be at Immanuel on Sunday morning to serve. There is a concept that God does not honor the office one holds, but honors the faithfulness of the servant to his job.
Ronnie raised his boys, Terry and Dean with his priority on spiritual teachings and the importance of being born again including enrolling them in Gospel Light Christian School. He held high regard for the commandment to honor your mother and your father, assisting in the care of his father in his last years.
He remained faithful to Immanuel Baptist Church until the time that his mobility issues became too compromised to be able to attend.
Of course, there is sadness in our hearts that he is no longer with us; however, we believe that God chose to take him to heaven after his recent accident. He stayed faithful to the end and would often shed a tear when we talked about spiritual happenings. An outstanding practice remembered by those of us who had Christmas times with him is, he always said, “Let’s sing Happy Birthday to Jesus”.
