Mrs. Joy Brunk, 84, passed away peacefully at her home December 11, 2025. She was born September 26, 1941, in Forsyth County to the late Raymond Thomas Gordy, Sr. and Anna Caudle Gordy. Joy loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a hard worker, determined and fought a good fight. In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband, James Brunk and 8 siblings, RT, Zena, Mary Jane, Joann, Shelby, Larry, Lee and Guy. She is survived by 3 children; Rhonda Nelson (Chris), Teresa Hutchens and Regina Ziglar; 4 grandchildren, Jamie Nelson (Brooke), Robert Hutchens, Raymond Hutchens and Kelly Mae Ziglar, and 4 great grandchildren, Ashley, Hunter, Raelyn and Leah; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Chris Nelson will speak at the graveside service December 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. for family and friends at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church, 8104 Red Bank Road, Germanton, NC.
