Christine Diana Darr of Winston-Salem, North Carolina died at age 67 after a fight with an aggressive brain tumor.
She was the youngest child of Derek Terence Turner, and Anais Quevedo Turner. Born in London, England, she moved to Durham, NC with her parents early in life. She was raised in Durham, NC, graduated from Charles E. Jordan High School in 1977, attended Western Carolina University in Culhowee, NC, and earned a computer science degree from UNC-Charlotte.
Christine made many trips to Spain and enjoyed staying with her cousins and family there. In later years, she became a citizen of Spain and planned to live there.
Christine enjoyed spending time with her daughter, and will be remembered for her gentle nature and kindness. She was a member of Reynolda Church in Winston-Salem, NC and is an example for us all on how to persevere through pain and discomfort in this life, with hope and faith that a better day will indeed come.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Michelle Darr, brother Luis Turner and wife Alison, former husband Marvin C. Darr, former husband Zane A Stephens, plus nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
